Hershey Bears News Release

Charlie Stephens led the way with three assists while Peter Budaj made a career high 52 saves to lead the BEARS to a 4-2 win over the Hartford Wolfpack. The BEARS scored the first goal of the game when Sheldon Keefe chased down a Gavin Morgan pass and banked it off goaltender Phil Osaer into the goal for a power play tally. Morgan and Tomas Slovak picked up the assists to give the BEARS the 1-0 lead. With the assist, Slovak now has points in four straight games. HERSHEY then took a 2-0 lead when Brett Clark let a wrist shot go from the left point past the Hartford goaltender on the power play. Charlie Stephens and Pascal Trepanier picked up assists on the goal. The point for Stephens was his first as a BEAR since November 15th when he scored a goal in Norfolk against the Admirals. The BEARS made it 3-0 on a goal from Steve Brule at the 1:50 mark of the second period, and then ran Osaer from the game at the 8:18 mark of the second when D.J. Smith scored his sixth goal of the season. Peter Budaj stopped 35 shots after two periods to blank the Wolfpack through 40 minutes, and finished the game with a career high in saves.

The BEARS now travel to Portland to take on the Pirates Saturday night. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m.
