
Roadrunners Doubled By Baby Leafs

TORONTO, ON - Despite outshooting St. John's 36 to 25, the Toronto Roadrunners were defeated 4-2 on Friday night at the Ricoh Coliseum.
Tony Salmelainen scored both Roadrunners goals. Dan Smith, Peter Sarno, Jeff Woywitka, and J.J. Hunter earned assists.
Carlo Colaiacovo, Aaron Gavey, Nathan Barrett, and Kyle Wellwood scored for St. John's. Marc Moro, Harold Druken, Ben Ondrus, Brad Leeb, and Clarke Wilm, with a pair, had assists for the Maple Leafs.
Roadrunners forward Chad Hinz had his six game point streak snapped.
On the power play, Toronto was 1 for 3, while Hamilton was 0 for 4.
In goal, Roadrunners netminder Stephen Valiquette stopped 21 shots, while St. John's backstop Mikael Tellqvist made 34 saves and was named the game's first star.
The Roadrunners next action takes place tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Hamilton to take on the Bulldogs. The game can be seen live on Sportsnet, beginning at 3:30 PM.
