Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Announce Roster Moves

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim recalled defenseman Mark Popovic from the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League and assigned right wing Joffrey Lupul to Cincinnati on Friday.

Popovic, a second-round pick by Anaheim in 2001, had one goal and one assist with 20 penalty minutes in 28 games with Cincinnati this season. The 21-year-old Stoney Creek, Ontario native joins Anaheim after helping Team Canada win the 2003 Spengler Cup Tournament held December 26-31 in Davos, Switzerland.

Lupul, a first-round pick by Anaheim in 2002, had six goals and eight assists with 18 penalty minutes in 34 games with Anaheim this season. The 20-year-old Edmonton, Alberta native made the Anaheim roster out of training camp after completing a three-year amateur career with Medicine Hat of the Western Hockey League, where he had 127 goals and 240 points in 191 career games.
