Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will continue their three-game set with the Syracuse Chiefs on Wednesday night at NBT Bank Stadium. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (7-4, 3.87) gets the ball for the IronPigs on Wednesday. Vasquez was dealt the tough luck loss on Thursday at Toledo when he gave up just one run on four hits to go along with two walks and a career-high nine strikeouts over eight innings of work. The southpaw has allowed one earned run or less in four of his last 5 starts.

RHP Paolo Espino (4-5, 3.09) will be on the bump for Syracuse. Espino allowed seven hits while fanning six over eight shutout innings when he got the win on Thursday at Pawtucket. Back on July 25 at Coca-Cola Park, the right-hander was dealt the loss against the Pigs after giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking one and fanning four in five innings of work.

Pigs OF Brian Bogusevic extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single in Tuesday's game. Bogusevic is hitting .412 (14-34)-2-7 with three doubles, a triple, four runs scored, three walks and stolen bases in those eight games.
