THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, March 8th Inferno @ Gwinnett Gladiators 7pm

Columbia is 6-3-1 all-time against the Gladiators and 3-1-1 this season. This is the sixth out of seven games this year between the Gladiators and Inferno. Gwinnett is tied for third place with 64 points in the South Division.

Thursday, March 10th Inferno @ Pee Dee Pride Flo. Civic Center 7pm

This is the eighth of ten meetings between the Pride and Inferno. Columbia is 4-2-1 this season and 20-8-4 all-time against the Pride. Pee Dee is in fifth place in the East Division with 57 points (27-26-3).

Friday, March 11th Inferno vs. Texas Wildcatters Carolina Coliseum 7:30pm

Texas is in last place in the South Division with 30 points. The Inferno lost to Texas on November 12th and is 1-2-0 all-time. This will be the second game between these two teams this year.

Saturday, March 12th Inferno vs. Texas Wildcatters Carolina Coliseum 7:30pm

This is the third and final game this season against the Wildcatters and Inferno.

Friday, March 4th INFERNO 4 – Augusta 3

The Columbia Inferno came out on top as they win 4-3 against the Augusta Lynx. D'Arcy McConvey scored first for the Inferno at 7:04 of the first period as Eric Boulton set him up from behind the net. Sean Owens had the second assist. Augusta tied the game at 9:55 with a goal by rookie Ken Magowan. Owens notched his third goal of the season as he taps in a shot from Matt Ulwelling at 13:56 to give the Inferno a 2-1 lead. Augusta played strong in the second period as they scored two goals at 3:12 and 12:31 to give them the 3-2 lead. Chanse Fitzpatrick scored at 15:34 to tie the game at three as he scores with a slapshot off of the face-off by McConvey. Derek Eastman scores on the power play as he takes a slapshot from the blueline with passes from Brad Cook and Brad Ralph for the game winning goal at 12:36 of the third period.

Saturday, March 5th Inferno 3 – AUGUSTA 4 (Overtime)

The Augusta Lynx beat the Columbia Inferno 4-3 in overtime. The Lynx scored first at 18:51 of the first period on a breakaway by Matt Dzieduszycki. Columbia scored the next three goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Matt Ulwelling netted his 13th goal of the season at 8:21 with an assist from Sean Owens. At 19:06, D'Arcy McConvey scored from a pass along the boards by Eric Boulton and Derek Eastman. Thirty-one seconds later, at 19:37 Chanse Fitzpatrick notched his 18th goal of the year as Eastman passed from behind the net. McConvey had the second assist. Augusta scored two goals in the third period to tie the game at three a piece. In the overtime period, Jamie Johnson scored the game-winning goal for the Lynx at 2:20.
