
Ice Pilots Have Best Record In The League At 39-13-5 For 83 Points

Ice Pilots go 2-0-1 this week and continue with the best record in the ECHL at 39-13-5 for 83 points. The Ice Pilots began the week on Friday night with a 3-1 win vs. Texas. Nick Lindberg, Rob Palahnuk and Scott May scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Each team had 40 shots on goal. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie.
The Ice Pilots picked up a point with a 3-2 17 round shootout loss to Mississippi at home on Saturday night. Ryan O'Keefe and Aaron Phillips scored for the Ice Pilots in regulation. Todd Ford picked up the shootout loss in goal for the Ice Pilots. Ford stopped 13 out of 17 shooters in the shoot out. The shootout was the longest in Ice Pilots history. The longest shootout in ECHL history occurred on October 16, 1992. Birmingham won a 7-6 shootout vs. Hampton Roads. The shootout went 21 rounds with 42 shooters participating.
The Ice Pilots won on Sunday at Mississippi 3-0. Dwayne Hay, Nick Lindberg and Scott May scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Frederic Cloutier picked up the shutout win in goal for the Ice Pilots stopping 41 shots. Cloutier set an Ice Pilots record by picking up his fourth shutout of the season. The four shutouts is the most by an Ice Pilots goalie in a season.
Race for the Brabham Cup. The Brabham Cup is awarded to the team with the most points at the end of the regular season.

The Ice Pilots will play at Mississippi this Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have a record of 6-1-1 vs. Mississippi this season including a record of 4-0 on the road and 2-1-1 at home. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 30-37-11 vs. Mississippi including a record of 16-17-6 at home and 14-20-5 on the road.
The Ice Pilots will play at Pee Dee on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. central time. The Ice Pilots defeated Pee Dee at home on January 30th 4-2. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 7-4-1 vs. Pee Dee including a record of 2-3-1 at home and 5-1-0 on the road.
The Ice Pilots will play at Charlotte on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. central time. The Ice Pilots are 2-0 vs. Charlotte this season winning both games at home on December 17th 8-4 and December 30th 2-1. The Ice Pilots have an all time regular season record of 3-3-1 vs. Charlotte including a record of 3-1-1 at home and 0-2-0 on the road.
Next two home games are Tuesday, March 22 vs. Victoria and Saturday, March 26 vs. Augusta at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play the expansion Victoria Salmon Kings from Victoria, British Columbia on Tuesday, March 22. It is another Florida Lottery Second Chance Night. It will be the first ever meeting between the two teams and the Ice Pilots will play home to Augusta on Saturday, March 26. It is IHOP Bunny Toss Night on March 26. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed bunny to the game and when the Ice Pilots score the first goal of the game to toss the stuffed bunnies onto the ice. The stuffed bunnies will be distributed to kids at local hospitals and schools throughout the Pensacola area.
Leading Scorers: Tyler Beechey leads the Ice Pilots in scoring with 66 points and is the second leading scorer in the league. Beechey also leads the team with 27 goals which is the fourth best in the league. Beechey also leads the team with 39 assists. Beechey has been recalled to St. John's of the AHL. Corey Neils on is the leading scoring defenseman in the league with 47 points. Nielson also is tied for second in the league among defenseman with 12 goals and is tied for first all defenseman with 35 assists. Todd Ford has the fourth best goals against average in the league at 2.13 and fourth best save percentage at .934. Frederic Cloutier is first in the league among goalies with 25 wins and is second in the league with 1,162 saves and fifth in the league with 2,236 minutes played. Cloutier is among league leaders in the league with a 2.50 goals against average. Scott May is third in the league with a .203 save percentage.
Tentative Practice Schedule this week; The Ice Pilots will have Monday off and practice at the Civic Center on Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. The Ice Pilots will bus to Biloxi on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. and have a pre skate at Biloxi at 11 a.m. and play Mississippi Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will leave after the game for Pee Dee and play the Pride Friday night at 6:30 p.m. central time and will play at Charlotte on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. central time. The Ice Pilots will have Sunday off.
Ice Pilots hosting Fishing Trip with 72' Sportsfisherman "Destiny" The Ice Pilots are heading out on a Deep Sea Fishing Trip set for Monday, March 14th sponsored by the 72' Sportfisherman "Destiny." The boat will be leaving at 9 a.m. sharp for a great 6 hour cruise to fish the finest spots in the Gulf.

Ice Pilots Announce Ticket Packages for Kelly Cup Playoffs and 2005-06 Regular Season: The 14 home game Kelly Cup Playoff ticket in voices will be mailed out in mid to late February. Current Season Tick et holders who purchase the playoff package will have the option to apply any unused balance of the playoff tickets to next year's season tickets or have their balance refunded if any of the 14 home playoff games are not played. Playoff payments are due in full by March 31, 2005.
The renewal process for the 2005-2006 season tickets has begun. There is a dollar increase per ticket for all ticket types in all price levels for 2005-06. Early Bird Special: Season ticket holders can put down a $50 deposit per ticket thru March 31, 2005 witht eh full balance for 2005-06 season tickets due in full by September 1, 2005. There is a monthly payment plan option of 12 payments, beginning May 1, 2005 and ending April 1, 2006.
Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Aaron Phillips has been nominated for the ECHL Player of the Week. Phillips scored a goal and picked up three assists this past week. Goalie Frederic Cloutier has been nominated for the ECHL Goalie of the Week. Cloutier won both games this past week posting his fourth shutout of the season. Cloutier has been named the Dodge Player of the Week.
Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots leading scorer award this season. During the season, we will be updating you with the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed Ice Pilots top scorer. At the end of the season, Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will present a trophy to the Ice Pilots top scorer. Fans will have an update on the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed top scorer in the weekly release and at www.icepilots.com. Tyler Beechey is the top scorer on the Ice Pilots with 66 points. Jordan Krestanovich is second with 48 points. Corey Nielson has 47 points. Dwayne Hay and Aaron Phillips are tied for fourth place with 46 points each.

Kerr's Kids: For the second season in a row the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite organizations devoted to helping children who are terminally ill or have special limitations to be our guest during the 2004-05 regular season for a great night of hockey. Each organization is encouraged to pick 3-4 dates throughout the regular season. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission for 12 people (We would like to have at least 6 or more children, escorts are requ ired for the children and are counted as part of the 12). SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. If accessible seating is needed the Ice Pilots must be notified at least 2 days in advance and seating will be arranged. All members must stay in assigned seats. Please provide a list of attendee's 24 hours prior to game day.
