STORM NOTES
- Welcome Back Slegs! Friday night marked the return of Pierre Luc-Sleigher to the Storm line up. It was the first game for Sleigher since December 31st at Johnstown, and he made it count, scoring a goal in the second period that pulled Toledo to within one of the Rivermen.
- Leading the Way! Captain Sam Paolini continues to lead Toledo in points with 45 (13-32). His 32 assists are the most on the Storm. Tyler Knight has the team lead in goals with 20. P.J. Martin has the best plus/minus, as he is a plus 12.
- Defense Wins! This season, when the Storm allows 2 goals or less they have a record of 25-2-1. When allowing more than 2, Toledo is 6-20-3.
- Toledo is 18-8-1 at home and 13-14-3 on the road this year.
STORM WATCH
- The Toledo Storm Coach's Show will return to the airways this Tuesday night at 6pm. Storm Forward Rick Judson will join the Head Coach of the Toledo Storm Nick Vitucci and Matt Melzak for insightful hockey talk. As always the Toledo Storm Coach's Show is live at 6pm each and every Tuesday night at the Bronze Boar, which is located at 20 South Huron Street in downtown Toledo. The Coach's Show can be heard live this week on Fox Sports Radio 1230.
- March 11th and 12th features the second set of two contests against the Archrival Peoria Rivermen. Toledo has a record of 4-4-0 against the Rivermen this season. The Storm has killed off 27 of the 29 power play opportunities Peoria has had against Toledo. Both games will be in the Toledo Sports Arena and it is "Red Alert Weekend" with the Storm. All Fans are asked to dress in red for both games.
- Friday March 11th Detroit Red Wing forward Darren McCarty and his band "Grinder" will play a post game concert. This is the second post-game concert this season for the Storm. The first was Firehouse on opening night. Darren will also perform the ceremonial puck drop prior to the Storm game against the Rivermen.
- Sunday afternoon, Toledo will head to Johnstown for a date with the Chiefs. Toledo is 5-2-0 against the Chiefs this season, including 1-2-0 at Johnstown. Toledo has scored 11 more goals (25-14) than Johnstown in the 7 season meetings.
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Pierre Luc-Sleigher (1 goal - 0 assists = 1 points)
Pierre played in his first game of 2005 Friday night and scored a goal. He also returned to the physical play, collecting 16 penalty minutes.
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Scott Fankhouser (0-1-0, 2GA & 31SV)
Scott made 31 saves in his appearance Saturday night. Fankhouser has allowed 2 goals or less in his last 4 appearances.
