Utah Grizzlies News Release

FWest Valley City, Utah - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies (3-2-1-0) 3-1 during a Saturday matinee at Maverik Center after Utah won 4-1 Friday in Boise.

The Grizzlies wore zombie Halloween costumes in the game presented by Coors that were auctioned off live after the game for St. Jude Children's Hospital. $15,225 was raised in the auction.

"We had good chances. We've got a lot of skill and a lot of guys that can put the puck in the net," said Head Coach/General Manager. "It was just one of those nights where the puck wasn't going. Their goaltender played well but obviously if we get traffic in front and you're tenacious. We didn't do that tonight - you can't win them all - but a lot of good things out there."

The two teams will meet for the third time in four days Monday at Maverik Center at 7 p.m.

Chris Rawlings made his Grizzlies debut in goal and stopped 27 of 30 shots after Ryan Faragher was summoned to the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate in San Diego after making 47 saves in Friday's Utah win.

Ryan Walters made it 3-1 after Charles Sarault won a face-off 9:35 into the third period but that would be all the Grizzlies would be able to muster on Idaho rookie goaltender and Dallas Stars prospect Phillippe Desrosiers who stopped 34 of 35 shots for his pro win.

Idaho scored one in the first and two in the second to build a 3-0 lead in five-on-five play.

The Grizzlies had seven power-plays and went four-on-four penalty-kill.
