Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, OH - Former Cincinnati Cyclones forward Logan Shaw made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut for the Florida Panthers on Friday night. The 6'3", 204 pound winger logged 10:49 of ice time and dished out three hits in Florida's 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins.
"We're excited for Logan to be getting his chance to play in the NHL, and it's great to see a person of that caliber get this opportunity," said Cyclones Head Coach Matt MacDonald. "He's a guy that you could tell had the intangibles to be an NHL player and its great to see him finally get that opportunity. We couldn't ask for a better guy to represent Cincinnati and the Cyclones in the NHL."
Shaw skated in 20 games for the Cyclones in November and December of the 2013-2014 season, accounting for eight goals and 10 assists, for 18 total points. He was also an instrumental piece in Cincinnati's run to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2014, accounting for five goals and an assist in 24 playoff games.
A native of Glace Bay, NS, Shaw was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent the majority of his professional career with the San Antonio Rampage; Cincinnati's former American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, where he totaled 14 goals and 19 assists in 115 games from 2013-2015. Shaw most recently skated for the Portland Pirates of the AHL, scoring two goals in five games before his call-up.
