Game Preview: Allen vs. Missouri

Allen, TEXAS -The ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans (4-2-0-0) host the division-leading Missouri Mavericks (5-1-0-1) tonight in a battle of the top two teams in the Central Division.
Head to Head - Allen won eight of the nine matchups last season, picking up two points in each game and one point in an overtime loss to the Mavericks on March 27th in Allen. Allen outscored Missouri 37 to 18 in the nine games last year.
Familiar Faces - The Missouri Mavericks acquired Trevor Ludwig from Allen in exchange for forward Tristan King just before the start of the 2015-2016 season. Ludwig joins his younger brother, CJ, on the Mavericks roster. CJ Ludwig was assigned to Missouri from their AHL affiliate Bridgeport. Trevor is the new captain of the Missouri Mavericks.
Co-Captain Clutch - Gary Steffes leads the team in points with six, and is tied with Greger Hanson for the team lead in goals with three. Steffes leads the ECHL in power play goals with three. During a career season last year, Gary led the ECHL in goals with 44, and power play goals with 18.
Road Warriors - The Allen Americans have played four of the first six games away from Allen Event Center, going 3-1-0 on the road. Following tonight's home game against Missouri, Allen will play three straight on the road with games in Tulsa on Tuesday, and Rapid City on Friday and Saturday.
Recent Milestone - Tristan King, who leads the Americans in assists this season with four, recently picked up his 100th career helper, assisting on Aaron Gens' second goal of the night last Saturday in the 6-5 overtime win over the Utah Grizzlies.
