
Ice Pilots Pick Up Point with 5-4 OT Loss at Augusta

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots picked up a point on Wednesday night with a 5-4 overtime loss at Augusta in front of 1,482 fans.
Ryan Lang would score the first goal of the game for Augusta at the 3:49 mark of the first period to give Augusta a 1-0 lead. Lang beat Ice Pilots goalie Jomar Cruz on a breakaway. Dallas Steward scored his third goal of the season at the 5:24 mark to tie the game at 1. Augusta would regain the lead on a goal by Paul Kelly at the 9:51 mark of the first period.
Adam Courchaine would tie the game for the Ice Pilots at 2 with his 8th goal of the season. Courchaine threw the puck into the crease area from behind the goal and it went off an Augusta player into the net.
Bryson Busniuk would give the Ice Pilots their first lead of the night scoring on a breakaway down the left wing at the 13:11 mark of the second period. Busniuk slapped a hard wrister from the left wing circle by Augusta goalie Jason Wolfe and the Ice Pilots led 3-2.
Joel Stepp would tie the game at 3 in the third period scoring in front of the net at the 12:43 mark and the Lynx would regain the lead when Ryan Lang scored his second goal of the game at the 16:11 mark.
The Ice Pilots would force overtime pulling their goalie Jomar Cruz for an extra attacker as Adam Courchaine scored his second goal of the game with 51 seconds left in regulation time for a 4-4 tie.
Augusta's Eric Lundberg would score the game winning goal at the 1:42 mark of overtime. Lundberg threw the puck from the right wing board to the net as it got by goalie Jomar Cruz and Augusta won 5-4.
The Ice Pilots had 23 shots on goal, 11 penalty minutes and went 0-4 on the power play. Augusta had 44 shots on goal, 13 penalty minutes and went 0-3 on the power play. Jason Wolfe picked up the win in goal for Augusta and Jomar Cruz took the overtime loss in goal for the Ice Pilots.
The Ice Pilot s record goes to 8-10-3 for 19 points and Augusta improves to 9-10-2 for 20 points.
The Ice Pilots will play at Florida on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. central time. The Ice Pilots will return home to play Charlotte this Saturday night at a special 8:05 p.m. face-off. The game is starting at 8:05 p.m. because of the University of West Florida graduation during the day at the Pensacola Civic Center. The first 1,000 fans will receive Ice Pilots key tags. Shaun Landolt and Mark Rooneem will sign autographs after the game.

Fans will be able to call in and talk Ice Pilots hockey after every Saturday night home game on the post game show with Ice Pilots President Mario Forgione instead of during the pre-game.
