Stars come calling for Steelheads Bararuk

Des Moines, IA - The Idaho Steelheads' AHL affiliate, Iowa Stars, announced today they have recalled center David Bararuk.

Bararuk has played in 18 games for the Steelheads this season and is currently tied for third in scoring on the team with 21 points, including 10 goals: 18(10/11/21). Prior to being loaned to Idaho from Iowa on October 18th, Bararuk skated in one Stars game this season, recording two penalty minutes in the Saturday, October 8th match against Omaha.

The 22-year-old was drafted by Idaho's NHL affiliate Dallas Stars in the 5th round, 147th pick overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

In addition, the 6-0, 180-pound Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native played a key role in the Steelheads 2003-04 Kelly Cup Championship having tallied 14 points (5/9/2) in 15 playoff games for Idaho that season.

The Steelheads continue their three-game series against the Victoria Salmon Kings Friday night at Qwest Arena. The puck drops at 7:10 pm.
