Last Weeks Highlights:

1/11/06 > Long Beach 6 @ Utah 3

The Ice Dogs won their second in a row versus Utah, this time with a decisive 6-3 victory. Ash Goldie had two goals, while Justin Aikins added a goal and two assists. Cory Urquhart, Mac Faulkner, and Christian Larrivee also scored for Long Beach which moved ahead of the .500 mark with the win. Jaroslav Halak was solid in goal making 41 saves. The Ice Dogs went 2-5 on the power play while Utah went 2-9.

1/13/06 > Long Beach 5 @ Utah 4

The Ice Dogs made it three in a row Friday night, defeating the Utah Grizzlies, 5-4. Long Beach twice came back from a two goal deficit to steal the win behind the four point night (2 goals, 2 assists) of Sean McAslan. Cory Urquhart had three points with a goal and two assists while Justin Aikins and Mike Vellinga also had tallies. Jaroslav Halak again got the win, coming in to relieve Olivier Michaud and make 14 saves. The Ice Dogs were 3-9 on the power play and Utah was 3-10.

1/14/06 > Long Beach 3 @ Utah 2 (SO)

The Ice Dogs completed a sweep of the Utah Grizzlies Saturday night, winning all three games there. It was actually their fourth straight victory, all against the Grizzlies, dating back to January 8th at Long Beach. Justin Aikins and Cory Urquhart were the goal scorers with Chris Kenady getting the game winner in the shootout. Greg Hewitt made 53 saves as well as three stops in the shootout to earn the win. The Ice Dogs went 1-5 on the power play and held Utah to 0-6.

1/21/06 > Long Beach vs. San Diego

On Saturday night, the San Diego Gulls come to town as the Ice Dogs will try to extend their season high four game winning streak. The Ice Dogs are 2-1-0 versus the Gulls so far this season.

1/22/06 > Long Beach vs. Victoria

On Sunday the Ice Dogs will welcome the Victoria Salmon Kings, a team they have never lost to (11-0-0). The two teams have met only once this season, with Long Beach taking it 6-3 back on November 27th.
