South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that the team has signed defenseman Likit Andersson. Andersson was acquired earlier this month from the Stockton Thunder for an undisclosed amount of cash.
Anderssson has spent 16 games with the Thunder this season and has two goals and six assists for eight points. Andersson has spent the majority of his ECHL career with the Augusta Lynx. In the 2001 season, the defenseman had 44 points on eight goals and 36 assists.
Fitzsimmons also announced that the Hershey Bears have sent defenseman Deryk Engelland back to the team after a four game stint in the American League. Both players will be in the lineup when the Rays host Augusta on Friday and Columbia on Saturday.
"Having both players in the lineup this weekend will certainly help our team," commented Fitzsimmons. "With three games in three nights against key division opponents this is good timing for us."
The Stingrays will play at home on Friday night against the Augusta Lynx and Saturday night against the Columbia Inferno before visiting Charlotte on Sunday at 3:00. Saturday night's game is pack the house night, with $5.00 tickets and free parking.
