Ice Dogs Fall to Aces, 4-2

November 26, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - It appeared the Ice Dogs might catch up after trailing 3-0 after two periods and scoring two goals in the third, but an empty netter with 43 seconds to play sealed the win for the Aces. It was the second loss to the Aces this season, after falling 4-0 here on November 7.

The first two periods looked much like the game against the Aces (10-7-1) of a few weeks ago, with the Ice Dogs (6-9-1) falling behind 3-0 heading into the final period. But Mike Ouellet finally got the Dogs on the board midway through the third and Krzysztof Wieckowski added another just 3:20 later to give the fans something to cheer about. With 1:34 to play, Long Beach pulled goalie Colin Zulianello to get the extra attacker. But an empty net goal by Mike Scott, his second of the game, erased any chance of a comeback.

The Ice Dogs will have their chance at revenge next week when they play two games in Alaska and try to make up some ground in the standings. After a day off tomorrow to regroup, they will travel to San Diego on Friday to take on the Gulls. They will return home again on December 7th when the Charlotte Checkers make their first ever visit to the Long Beach Arena.
