Ice Dogs Agree To Terms With Villeneuve

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that defenseman Steeve Villeneuve has agreed to terms for next season. He becomes the second player to return from last season's team, joining Chris Kenady on the roster.

Last season, his first as a professional, the 6-foot 200-pound native of St-Jerome, Quebec was third among Ice Dogs defenseman in scoring with 20 points (5 goals, 15 assists) in 70 games played. He finished with a +1 and 41 penalty minutes, with eight of his 20 points coming on the power play.

"Steeve had an outstanding rookie year with us last season", said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron. "Being able to come straight from Juniors and play 20 minutes a night as a first year defenseman is a tremendous accomplishment. He played all roles last year and his warrior-like attitude is what we'll need to win the Kelly Cup."

"I'm really happy to come back to Long Beach", said Villeneuve. "We had a great year, great team and I love the weather. Malcolm is putting together an even better team this year and I'm hoping to see us go even further."
