Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors have announced their complete schedule for the 2005-06 ECHL season today. The Condors will play a 72- game schedule with 36 home games beginning on Saturday, October 22nd against the Victoria Salmon Kings and finishing on Saturday, April 8th against the Alaska Aces.

The Condors home schedule features 22 games on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as one Sunday meeting and 12 weekday games. But one of the highlights of the opening month is a three-game set in Anchorage the second week of the season. The Aces and Condors met in the opening round of the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs in a bitter five-game series won by Alaska 3-games-to-2. Alaska comes to Bakersfield for the first time on January 7th.

The ECHL welcomes three new teams for this season with the addition of the Utah Grizzlies, Phoenix Roadrunners and Stockton Thunder. Those teams will come to Bakersfield for a combined 10 games in 2005-06, mostly in the second half of the season. Utah makes its Bakersfield debut on March 29th. Stockton comes to town for the first time on December 9th and Phoenix on March 10th. The Condors head to Utah twice this season, in late January and in early April. Their first game in Stockton is on February 5th and their first trip to Phoenix is for two games on December 16th and 18th.

The Condors Eastern trip heads south this season, with four games in five nights in three cities the first week of December. During that trip Bakersfield will meet up with the Texas Wildcatters, Mississippi Sea Wolves and Pensacola Ice Pilots. Mississippi will also come to the Rabobank Arena on November 17th. Other Eastern teams coming to the Central Valley will be the Johnstown Chiefs on November 30th, the Florida Everblades (Kelly Cup Finalists for two seasons in a row) on January 15th, and the Dayton Bombers on March 1st.

The division and conference alignments and the format for the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs will be announced following the Annual Board of Governors Meeting on June 21-22.
