Ice Dogs Acquire Lewandowski From Trenton

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that left wing Phil Lewandowski has been acquired via trade from the Trenton Titans for center Paul Spadafora. Lewandowski will join the team for their game tonight in Bakersfield.

The 5'10", 190 pound native of Naperville, Illinois, played in 34 games this season for Trenton, registering 9 goals, 7 assists and 47 penalty minutes. Last season, his rookie year, he split time between the Gwinnett Gladiators and Cincinnati Cyclones. In 57 games between the two teams, he scored 19 goals, 18 assists and 78 penalty minutes.

"We're really excited about the trade" said Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Malcolm Cameron. "He adds tremendous speed and tenacity to our hockey club. We were looking for speed up front and he's the right fit for us."

Prior to playing in the ECHL, Lewandowski played four years at Ferris State University. While there he played in 144 games, scoring 40 goals, 46 assists and 252 penalty minutes. He spent two season playing for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL before going to college where he scored 20 goals, 34 assists and 172 penalty minutes in 106 games.
