BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today they have acquired former National Hockey League (NHL) right-winger Billy Tibbetts in a trade for future considerations with the Toledo Storm.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Boston native played a total of 82 games in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers. Since turning professional 10-years ago, his hockey career has also earned him time with several teams in the American Hockey League and ECHL, including this season with Idaho divisional foes - the San Diego Gulls and Las Vegas Wranglers. He played 40 games with San Diego last season, and with 53 points led the team with the highest points-per-game average (1.325).

The 31-year-old Tibbetts is expected to be dressed and play in tonight's game against the Aces in Alaska. The game can be heard live beginning at 9:00 p.m. MST on ESPN Radio 1350 KTIK with Britt Talbert calling the action. In addition, a live webcast link is available through www.idahosteelheads.com.

In other Idaho Steelheads' roster moves today, forward Josh St. Louis was waived, forward Marty Flichel was placed on the 7-day injured reserve list, and forward David Morisset was moved from the 7-day injured reserve list to the 30-day injured reserve list.
