Victoria's Byers Fined, Suspended Eight Games

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Friday that Victoria defenseman Cole Byers has been fined an undisclosed amount and suspended eight games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #513 against Alaska on January 21.

At 11:45 of the third period, Byers was assessed a match penalty under Rule 43(a) - Attempt to Injure after elbowing an opposing player, who was not in possession of the puck, in the head.

Byers is suspended eight games under Rule 33A Supplemental Discipline.

Byers missed Victoria's game vs. Alaska (Jan. 22) and he will miss Victoria's games at Las Vegas (Jan. 29), at Las Vegas (Jan. 31), vs. Fresno (Feb. 2), vs. Fresno (Feb. 4), vs. Fresno (Feb. 5), vs. Idaho (Feb. 7), vs. Idaho (Feb. 9).
