Nailers Post Shutout in Dayton

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 1-0 decision to the Wheeling Nailers in front of 3,011 at the Nutter Center Friday night.

The game's only goal was scored by Pascal Morency at 15:29 of the first period. Bombers goaltender MIKE AYERS, the reigning ECHL Goaltender of the Week, stopped 21 of 22 shots in a losing effort. Wheeling goaltender Joe Exter recorded 38 saves and first star honors for his first shutout and second win (2-7-0) of the season.

The Bombers killed off all 5 shorthanded situations, but went 0 for 7 on the powerplay.

The Bombers return to action tomorrow (Saturday) night when they host the San Diego Gulls. Audio coverage begins at 7:00 PM at daytonbombers.com.
