Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (January 28, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced on Friday that they have acquired center Paul Spadafora from the Long Beach Ice Dogs in exchange for left wing Phil Lewandowski.

"Paul's a gritty, two-way player that brings a lot to the table," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Mike Haviland. "He's won a championship at this level and has a lot of intangibles that can help our team."

Spadafora, 25, returns to the Titans for the second time in his five-year professional career. The Hamilton, Ontario native spent his rookie season with Trenton, notching 47 points (14g, 33a) and 60 PIM in 66 games. With the Ice Dogs, the 6'0", 195 lbs center potted 4 goals, 11 assists and 91 penalty minutes over 37 games. Spadafora and Haviland were both a part of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies squad that won the Kelly Cup in 2002-03

Lewandowski, 25, had registered 9 goals, 7 assists and 47 penalty minutes in 34 games for Trenton this season. The second-year player split his rookie year between the Cincinnati Cyclones and Gwinnett Gladiators. The Naperville, IL native averaged just over a point a game for the Cyclones, tallying 7 goals and 7 assists in 13 games, while recording 23 points (12g, 11a) and 66 penalty minutes during 44 games with the Gladiators. Lewandowski played collegiate hockey at Ferris State University, where he scored 40 goals, 46 assists and 252 penalty minutes over 144 games during his four-year career.
