January 28, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Despite leading 2-0 at the beginning of the third period, the Trenton Titans could not hold on as the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies rallied for a 3-2 overtime victory in front of 4,862 Boardwalk Hall.

Nick Deschenes helped give the Titans the two-goal cushion with a shorthanded, breakaway goal just 57 seconds into the final frame, but Dave Reid would take it upon himself to pull the Bullies even.

The Atlantic City defenseman put Luke Curtin's rebound past Andrew Allen for a power play goal at 3:45 of the third period. Reid then tied it up 2-2 with a wrist shot that found its way through traffic into the back of the Titans' net.

The two teams would skate into the overtime where Jason Notermann deflected Curtin's slap shot over Allen for the game-winning goal.

Matt Zultek gave Trenton the early lead at 12:15 of the first stanza with his ninth of the season. The Titans set a season high with 91 penalty minutes, as Trenton and Atlantic City combined for a ECHL season high 162 PIM overall.

Jake Moreland turned away 39 of 41 shots for his league leading 20th win of the year. Allen stopped 27 shots as his record falls to 10-7-2.

The Titans complete their home-and-home series against Atlantic City on Saturday, January 29 at 7:00pm at Sovereign Bank Arena. Tune into 91.3FM-WTSR or go to www.trentontitans.com to listen or watch live.
