Hitmen Complete Busy Weekend with 4-2 Loss to Swift Current

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen finished off a packed weekend of games with a 4-2 loss to the Swift Current Broncos at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Maxim Muranov opened up the scoring in the first period, breaking an 18 game scoring drought for the Import. Josh Filmon was the first to strike for Swift Current tying the game in the second. Owen Pickering capitalized on the power play to give Swift their first lead of the game entering the third period. The game was tied 12:43 into the third with Zac Funk finding the back of the net for his 14th of the year.

The game winner was netted by Josh Davies followed by an empty net from Filmon to secure the win for the Broncos.

Zac Funk earned second star of the game. Trey Patterson reached the milestone of 50 career games with today's match.

The Hitmen will enjoy a full six day break before welcoming Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats to the 'Dome for a 2:00 p.m. start on Sunday, Feb. 6. It will also mark the start of a busy stretch for Calgary that will see the club play 11 games in 22 days.
