The Providence Bruins announced today that left wing Andy Hilbert has been reassigned to the team by the Boston Bruins. The third-year pro out of the University of Michigan had been with Boston since February 11. He had 2-0-2 totals and 9 PIM in 18 games with Boston. Hilbert, who missed the first 37 games of the year due to a groin injury sustained in training camp, has 1-2-3 totals and 16 PIM in 18 games with the P-Bruins. He is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Bruins visit the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7:00 p.m.

Hilbert, a 22-year-old native of Howell, Michigan, tallied 35-35-70 totals in 64 games with Providence last season. He led the team and tied for third in the AHL in goal-scoring, and was selected to his second consecutive appearance in the AHL All-Star Classic. Hilbert has 62-64-126 totals and 209 PIM in 148 career AHL games, all with Providence. He is tied for sixth in goals in franchise career history, and ranks 12th in points. Hilbert also has 3-3-6 totals and 18 PIM in 38 career NHL games, all with the Boston Bruins. Hilbert was Boston's third pick, 37th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Providence Bruins will spend the entire weekend on the road, playing against Atlantic Division opponents. After playing in Lowell tonight, they visit the Springfield Falcons on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. They conclude the weekend on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m., when they face off with the Worcester IceCats. All three games can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550.
