Hershey Bears News Release

After a 5-0 win at the expense of Michel Therrien's Penguins on Sunday at GIANT Center, the BEARS look to make it two in a row and vault back into the East Division playoff picture tonight at Wachovia Arena. Sunday's game saw HERSHEY outshoot the Penguins 44-21 in a 5-0 victory that included 223 penalty minutes and 16 fighting majors. Tonight's game is the final meeting of the year between the two teams in the regular season. Eric Perrin leads all scorers in the season series between the Penguins and BEARS. Perrin has four goals and 16 points against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2003-04. Shane Willis is second on the HERSHEY roster with six goals and nine points against the Pens. Michel Ouellet leads the Penguins with six goals and nine points against the BEARS in 2003-04. Shane Endicott has four goals and eight points to rank second on the Pens against HERSHEY.

The power play for both teams has been something to behold in this season series to date. The BEARS have at least one power play goal in the previous nine encounters with their Pennsylvania Penguin neighbors in 2003-04. HERSHEY struck for three power play goals Sunday in a 5-0 victory over the Pens at GIANT Center. The three power play tallies tied a season high. Overall this season, the BEARS are 13 for 47 (27.7 percent). Wilkes-Barre has had good success on the man advantage as well in the previous nine meetings, going nine for 47 a man up (19.1 percent).

Tonight's game is a sellout at Wachovia Arena; the game can be heard on 92.7 WSJW beginning with the pre-game show. John Walton calls the action from northeast PA beginning at 6:45 p.m.
