Atlanta Gladiators News Release
DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators have announced that they have traded goaltender Mark Guggenberger to the Fort Wayne Komets in exchange for future considerations on Thursday.
Guggenberger, 26, has been the Gladiators' workhorse in net since the team acquired him late last season. In 16 games for Gwinnett last year, Guggenberger went 10-5 with a 2.75 goals-against average, a .913 save percentage, and one shutout. He earned himself his first AHL call-up to AHL Rochester at the end of that season, and did extremely well, allowing only one goal on 42 shots against Lake Erie on April 13th, 2014.
The Richfield, Minnesota native has played over 1,200 minutes for the Gladiators this season. In 23 games played, his most since 2012-13, Guggenberger has a 6-12-2 record with a 3.46 GAA, a .893 SV%, and one shutout.
The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league, and are affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth - where parking is always free.
