Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators have announced that they have acquired forwards Jason Wilson and Jeff Silengo from the Florida Everblades in exchange for Casey Pierro-Zabotel on Thursday. The Gladiators will also receive future considerations and financial assistance in the deal.

Wilson, 24, is in his fourth professional season, playing 50 games with the Everblades and registering eight goals and seven assists. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native was drafted in the fifth round (130th overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Wilson played two seasons with the Greenville Road Warriors, and spent 17 games with the Connecticut Whale of the AHL in 2012-13.

Silengo, 25, is in his rookie season with the Everblades, with a goal and five assists in 33 games played. The native of Madison, Connecticut spent four years at the University of New Hampshire, with his best season coming his senior year (eight goals, seven assists in 35 games). Silengo was used extensively as a "flex" player with the Everblades, switching between forward and defenseman in the early half of this season.

Pierro-Zabotel, 26, is in the midst of his sixth professional season, and his third with the Gladiators. The Ashcroft, British Columbia native currently leads the Gladiators in goals (23) and points (60), and has the highest total of any skater in the Eastern Conference. He rejoined the Gladiators midway through last season after beginning the year in Germany, and recently played in three games with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league, and are affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth - where parking is always free.
