
Grumet-Morris Signed by Hamilton, Martin on IR

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, announced Thursday (Feb. 22) that goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris has signed with the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL). Grumet-Morris will be in uniform for the Bulldogs this weekend. It will be his first appearance with the top farm club of the Montreal Canadiens (NHL).
Grumet-Morris, 24, has appeared in eleven games for the Cyclones this season, posting a 8-6-2 record with a 2.68 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. In two stints with Portland this season, Dov is 1-5-4 in eleven games, with a 3.03 goals against average. Grumet-Morris stopped a season-high 40 shots in a 5-3 win versus Providence on Dec. 22.
Last season, Grumet-Morris helped the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League (CHL) win the league championship. He turned in an 18-5-2 record with a 2.03 goals against average, best in the CHL. He won eight of the twelve games the Bucks claimed in the post season to take their first-ever league championship. Grumet-Morris played his collegiate hockey at Harvard, setting 13 school records in the process.
The Cincinnati Cyclones currently have eight players on recall to the American Hockey League. Center Cory Urquhart and defenseman Jon Gleed have been with Hamilton an extended period of time and defenseman Rory Rawlyk has been with Binghamton sin early January., In the last week, goaltender Cedrick Desjardins was recalled by Hamilton (AHL) on Thursday (Feb. 15). Forward Jimmy Bonneau went to Hamilton (AHL) on Saturday (Feb. 17) and forward Mathieu Aubin was recalled by Hamilton on Sunday (Feb. 18). Defenseman Nick Martens was signed by Bridgeport (AHL) on Sunday (Feb. 18) as well. Grumet-Morris becomes the eighth member of that club.
In other Cyclones news, defenseman Conrad Martin has been placed on the seven-day injured reserve list.
The Cyclones are next in action at Trenton on Friday (Feb. 23) at 7:30pm. It is the second game of a seven game road trip for the club which will eep it away from U.S. Bank Arena until Friday, March 9 when Dayton visits.
