Augusta, GA - A four goal third period helped the Toledo Storm come back for a 6-5 shootout win over the Augusta Lynx on Friday night at the James Brown Arena.

Brian Passmore and Mike Erickson opened the game with a pair of first period markers to make it 2-0 Lynx after the first period, but Toledo struck quickly 18 seconds into the middle frame on Chris Blight's first of two to make it 2-1.

The Lynx then scored three in a row, with Passmore and Erickson scoring again followed by Aaron Slattengren's tip of a Jason Platt point shot for a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.

In the third, Toledo put together an impressive rally, getting goals from Blight, two from Nick Parillo, and a sixth attacker goal from Mike Walsh to tie the game with just 1:15 remaining in regulation.

A scoreless overtime led to a shootout where Dirk Southern marked first for Augusta, but Toledo scored in rounds three and four to take the shootout and a 6-5 victory.

Ervins Mustukovs stopped 42 of 47 Lynx shots for the win and four of five in the shootout. Dave McKee made 32 saves and stopped three of five in the shootout for Augusta.

The Lynx are back in action Saturday night in Ft. Myers, Florida against the Everblades. Game time is 7:30 pm with radio coverage beginning one half-hour before puck drop on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
