Grizzlies Winter Reading Program Begins Tuesday At Smith Library

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies, in conjunction with Salt Lake County Library Services, announced today the details for the team's 2009 Grizz Kids Winter Reading Program.

Grizzlies defenseman Tim Maxwell will kickoff this year's program Tuesday, February 3 at the Calvin S Smith Library at 4 p.m. in Salt Lake; which is located at 3300 South and 810 East.

All kids ages 5-14 are encouraged to participate in the Grizz Kids Winter Reading program at any County Library location until Mar. 31, 2009. All libraries have Grizz Kids reading records available for children to track their reading progress. When the record is complete, the child's parent or guardian can return it to the library and receive a voucher for a free ticket to the team's Salt Lake County Library Night April 4, 2009 at the E-Center when the Grizzlies host Alaska.

In addition, all children are invited to attend several story times with Grizzlies players at local libraries. During the story times, a Grizzlies player will read a story to those in attendance while also holding a question and answer session, interactive hockey demonstration and signing autographs. The team's mascot Grizzbee will also be in attendance at the story times.

Bingham Creek Library - Tuesday, February 17, 7:00 p.m.

Magna Library - Monday, March 9, 7:00 p.m.

Kearns Library - Tuesday, March 10, 3:00 p.m.

Columbus Library - Monday, March 16, 4:30 p.m.

West Jordan Library - Monday, March 23, 7:00 p.m.
