Auffrey Gets Call to AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that forward Matt Auffrey has been called-up to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Auffrey joins Ross Carlson and Aaron Brocklehurst as players recalled to the AHL from the Everblades this week. For Auffrey it's his first stint in the AHL this season. The 23-year-old began the 2008-09 campaign with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL where he posted 11 points (4g, 7a) in 18 games. The Everblades signed him to a contract in December and since joining the club he has recorded 12 points (2g, 10a) in 21 games.

Auffrey's only other AHL experience came in 2005-06 when he saw action in two games with Portland where he collected one assist. Last season as a rookie he played all 72 games with Augusta, notching 50 points (25g, 25a).

The Everblades return to action tonight when they travel to South Carolina to take on the Stingrays at 7:05 p.m. The Everblades return home to Germain Arena on Tuesday, February 3 when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 from Germain Arena.
