Jackals Fall To Devils, Rematch Tomorrow

Elmira, NY- The Jackals three game win streak came to a close tonight with a 5-1 Trenton Devils win at First Arena. Two early power play goals and a 24 save performance from Devils goaltender Gerald Coleman helped Trenton to their 22nd win of the season. The second game of the weekend doubleheader is tomorrow evening at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena.

Trenton opened the scoring at the 16:29 mark of the first period with a five on three power play goal from Matt Cohen. The Jackals pressured in the first period but couldn't find an answer for the Devils defense.

The Devils netted their second of the night, another power play goal, this time at the 14:06 mark of the second. Jim Henkel's 11th of the year. The Jackals out shot Trenton 17-16 through two periods but were again held scoreless.

The Jackals finally cracked the toughest goalie in the ECHL 6:14 into the third period. Shawn Snider netted his first goal as a Jackal, with assists going to Brian Ihnacak and Guillaume Lepine. The Devils the deflated the Jackals momentum with a goal at the 11:11 mark, Dan Eves netted his fourth of the year. Trenton tacked on another moments later at the 12:43 mark when Matt Radoslovich connected on a pass from Chris Dyment. Trenton scored a shorthanded empty netter at the 14:57 mark to extend the lead to 5-1.
