Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (18-18-4, 40 Points) were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors (14-23-6, 34 Points) 3-1 in front of 6,327 fans on Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Condors' goalie Dave McKee stopped 15 of 16 shots, snapping Bakersfield's three-game winless streak. Forward Mark Derlago scored the game-winning goal for the Condors and Chad Painchaud added two assists. Las Vegas forward Tyler Mosienko scored the only Wranglers goal. Wranglers' goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 35 shots as Las Vegas moved to 12-8-2 at home this season. Las Vegas will play Bakersfield at the Orleans Arena on Saturday at 7:30 PM.
After a scoreless first period, Bakersfield center Bret Pilkington scored his sixth goal of the season at 15:37. Winger Mark Derlago and Andrew Ianiero assisted the goal to put the Condors up 1-0. Derlago stretched the lead to 2-0 55-seconds later. Forwards Chad Painchaud and Dave Bonk set up Derlago's 12th goal of the season. The Condors outshot Las Vegas 21-3 in the second period.
In the third period, rookie Matt Pope tallied his team leading 24th goal of the season to stretch the Condors' lead to 3-0. Painchaud and defenseman Danny Grover assisted on the power-play goal at 3:26. Las Vegas forward Tyler Mosienko scored his ninth goal of the season to trim the Condors lead to 3-1 at 15:28.
Bakersfield will stay in town to play at 7:30 PM on Saturday and on Monday.
