
Grizzlies Take 3rd-Straight from Idaho 4-3 in Shootout

Boise, Idaho - The Utah Grizzlies (27-19-3-5) defeated the Idaho Steelheads (27-18-3-4) 4-3 in a shootout Saturday night in Boise in front of a sellout crowd of 5,347 fans.
The Grizzlies improve to 20-5-2-3 since Christmas after taking three-straight wins from rival Idaho in the four-game in six-night series. Utah completes a 14-game in 24-day stretch at 10-3-0-1.
Danick Paquette scored the game-winning goal in round seven of the shootout and Igor Bobkov denied Idaho's Tommy Grant to seal the game.
Utah led 2-1 going to the second period and 3-2 going to the third period as Idaho battled back in their return home as the Grizzlies outshot Idaho 37-27 in the contest.
The Grizzlies fell behind 1-0 5:29 into the first period, but tied it 6:28 later as D.J. Jelitto picked up a turnover in the neutral zone and fed Michael Pelech for his 12th goal of the year. Utah made it 2-1 3:56 later as Kris Hogg won a face-off and Derick Martin threw the puck towards the net and Vinny Scarsella tipped it in for his tenth goal of the year.
After Idaho tied the game early in the second period, the Grizzlies took the lead back with 2:59 left in the second period as Teigan Zahn threw a puck in from the point after Phil Mangan and David Vallorani forced a turnover. The goal was Zahn's third goal in two night.
Grizzlies goaltender Igor Bobkov won his seventh-straight start and improved to 11-4-2-2 in the win.
Friday is our eighth annual Pink in the Rink to support breast cancer awareness. The Grizzlies will be wearing pink specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game.
Saturday, March 1st is our next Post-Game Skate with the Grizzlies. Skate Rental is $2.
