DULUTH, Ga. - With Scott Stajcer out for the season with an injury, and Mathieu Corbeil injured in Saturday night's game against Reading, the Gwinnett Gladiators brought two new goaltenders on board. The team signed Nick Niedert prior to Saturday's game, and Andrew Loewen on Sunday leading up to Gwinnett's 2:05 p.m. matchup with the South Carolina Stingrays.

Niedert (pronounced nee-DERT), 31, made 35 saves on 37 shots in relief of Corbeil Saturday night. The Hudson, IA native is playing for his fourth team this season, and making his 27th overall stop in his ten year pro career. Niedert appeared in four games with the Gladiators last season posting an 0-3 record, with a 3.68 goals against average and a .825 save percentage.

Loewen (low-en), 29, appeared in one game for the Gladiators earlier this season, but has spent most of the 2013-14 campaign with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League. In 30 games, he has a 15-13-1 record, with a 2.87 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

Stajcer appeared in four games for Gwinnett (1-2-1, 3.24, .893), while Corbeil appeared in six (2-3, 3.46, .881).

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league and are affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
