
Eagles Earn Point in 4-3 OT Loss to Thunder

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles (26-15-6-4) fought to the bitter end in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Stockton Thunder (25-21-0-5) on Saturday evening at the Budweiser Events Center.
With less than one minute remaining in the first period, Thunder forward Joey Martin put the puck over Eagles netminder Adam Brown to give Stockton the 1-0 advantage.
Eagles forward Jonathan Parker tied the game at one with a goal from the low slot just 2:18 into the second period. The Thunder were quick to answer, less than two minutes later, as forward Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon stuffed the puck home, five-hole, to give Stockton the lead back, 2-1. Just twelve seconds later Thunder forward Corey Trivino beat Brown top-shelf to extend Stockton's lead to 3-1.Six minutes and four seconds into the second, Eagles forward Kyle Kraemer found the back of the net from the top of the circle and cut Stockton's lead to 3-2. With only 1:11 left in the second Kraemer netted his second goal of the night on a power-play to tie the game at 3-3.
The third period saw both teams go scoreless and they headed into a sudden-death 4-on-4 overtime. Defenseman Ryan Constant scored the final goal of the contest for the Thunder with a goal from the hash marks with just 1:12 remaining to take home the 4-3 victory for Stockton. The two teams close out their three-game series with a Sunday matinee game starting at 2:05 pm.
