Gladiators Host Stingrays for Sunday Matinee

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators (18-29-2-2) host the Eastern Conference-leading South Carolina Stingrays (32-15-1-3) Sunday afternoon to wrap up Puck Dynasty Weekend. The Rays knocked off the Evansville IceMen in a shootout 3-2 last night, while the Gladiators dropped a tight, physical contest to the Reading Royals 2-1. Gwinnett is 5-7 against South Carolina this season, and 3-4 against them at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Glads Notes:

Puck Dynasty: The Gladiators will be celebrating Puck Dynasty Weekend from Friday to Saturday at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, an ode to the hit TV series "Duck Dynasty." The Gladiators will be wearing special snow camouflage jerseys all weekend that will be auctioned off for charity after Sunday's matinee against the South Carolina Stingrays.

Elite Everson: Rookie forward Marshall Everson has been on an absolute tear since the start of February. The Edina, MN native has at least a goal in four of eight games, and at least apoint in six of eight. During that stretch, Everson has five goals, four assists, and is a plus-four.

Streaking Glads: Casey Pierro-Zabotel has two goals and six assists in his last six games ... Evan Bloodoff has a goal in three of his past six games ... Defenseman Daniel Spivak has finished a game with a minus in only nine of his 46 games played this season, and hasn't gone below a minus-one. He leads the Gladiators with a plus-ten rating.

Milestones: Evan Bloodoff is playing in his 100th game as a Gladiator, and in the ECHL today ... Dirk Southern is one goal away from 85 as a professional, and three assists away from 100 in the ECHL ... Casey Pierro-Zabotel is one assist away from 150 in the ECHL.

Snippets: When scoring three or more goals the Gladiators are 17-5-2-1 ... Gwinnett is 13-0 when leading after two periods ... The Gladiators are 15-11-1-0 when scoring first, while opponents are 21-3 when Gwinnett gives up the first goal ... Gwinnett's PK at home has been outstanding in 2014, as visitors have gone a combined 3-for-45 (6.7%) on the man advantage since January 2nd.
