Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Toledo, OH - F Tyler Murovich tied the contest in the third period and F Taylor Matson followed up with two of his own as the Solar Bears earned a 4-3 come-from-behind victory at the Huntington Center on Saturday night.
The first period opened with an early goal from the Toledo Walleye. 28 seconds into the game, F Aaron Bogosian moved the puck towards the top of the crease and D Bobby Shea blasted a one-time shot past G Cody Reichard to give Toledo a 1-0 lead. With time winding down in the first, and Toledo still holding their one goal advantage, F Scott Tanski evened up the scoring. F Mickey Lang moved the Tanski in the neutral zone and he raced into the slot and fired the puck past G Mac Carruth to send the game locked at 1-1 into the first intermission.
Toledo scored the lone goal of the second at 13:47 of the frame. D Russ Sinkewich blasted a shot from the blue line that was stopped by G Cody Reichard, but F Aaron Clarke found the rebound and snapped it into the net to restore Toledo's lead at 2-1 heading towards the third.
F Tyler Murovich knotted the game up at 2-2 at 7:40 of the third after D Connor Goggin raced the puck into the zone and slid it to Murovich who snapped a shot into the bottom left corner as the Solar Bears pulled even for the second time. Matson then gave Orlando their first lead of the game on a shorthanded goal at 11:40, taking a feed from Lang and rolling a shot over the pads of Carruth and over the line. With 4:40 left in the period, Clarke collected his second goal of the night with a snap shot right underneath the crossbar, pulling the game to 3-3. Matson then tallied his second of the period after settling a bouncing puck behind the net and finishing off a wraparound just inside the right post with 1:44 to go in the contest. Toledo pulled their netminder for an extra attacker in an attempt to tie up the game, but Reichard and Orlando held off the late attack as the Solar Bears took the 4-3 victory.
