
Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Orlando Solar Bears

This afternoon will be the first of five meetings this season between the Kalamazoo Wings and Orlando Solar Bears. This will be the Solar Bears first-ever ECHL appearance at Wings Stadium and the first overall since the 1999-00 season when both teams competed in the International Hockey League.
The K-Wings return home looking to extend two streaks. Kalamazoo has won three straight games overall and will be trying to extend their own ECHL record for consecutive home victories at seven. With 62 points, the K-Wings are tied for first place North Division and are tied for third overall in the Eastern Conference.
Orlando has been as hot as their Florida weather. The Solar Bears enter Wings Stadium on an eight-game winning streak, which is the longest current win streak in the entire ECHL. With 63 points, Orlando is in second place in both the South Division and in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Nick Sirota is closing in on a personal milestone. Sirota is one goal shy of 100 in his career.
An Even Dozen
Last Monday's victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones improved the K-Wings recorded to 29-17-1-3. It marks the first time this season that Kalamazoo has been 12 games above .500.
Home Sweet Home
Kalamazoo will return home this afternoon looking to extend a streak. The K-Wings are on a season-high and a team ECHL record seven-game home winning streak.
