Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Colorado Eagles (32-23-2-1) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (32-24-3-2) 6-2 Friday night at Maverik Center.

The loss comes as the Grizzlies returned home from seven games in 12 days on the road and marks just the first time this year in their 30th home game that the Grizzlies have lost by more than two goals at Maverik Center.

Utah drops to 5-2 on the season against Colorado and sees their four-game winning streak at home snapped against the Eagles.

Colorado took a 1-0 lead 4:16 into the first period. The Grizzlies finished the first period with eight of the final 11 shots and tied the game as Ryan Hayes tipped in a Shayne Taker blast on the power-play with Alex Krushelnyski also collecting an assist to extend his scoring streak to six-straight.

The Eagles built a 4-1 lead with three goals in 6:57 from 6:10 to 13:07 of the second period as they scored off of a face-off, on the power-play and shorthanded. Colorado made it 5-1 early in the third period off of a Utah turnover.

The Grizzlies cut the deficit to three on a Jon Puskar goal as he came up ice on a three-on-two with Erik Higby and Brent Gwidt.

Ryan Faragher takes the loss in goal to Utah and is now 21-11-2-1.

Saturday wraps up the team's Beer Fest weekend with a $27 Center Plaza Ticket available that includes a select bottle or draft beer and a bratwurst when mentioning this offer at the arena box office.
