Duck Dynasty Event Postponed Due to Louisiana Flooding
March 12, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, regret to inform their fans that Si Robertson's apperance on March 12th has been postponed. The State of Louisiana, where Robertson resides, was hit by heavy rains and flooding, preventing Si from being able to make the trip to Wheeling. Saturday's game between the Nailers and Kalamazoo Wings will be played as scheduled, while Duck Dynasty Night with Si Robertson has been rescheduled for Friday, April 1st.
This will be the third season in a row that the Nailers host Duck Dynasty Night, with their third different character from the program. In 2013-14, over 3,500 fans came out to see the inaugural event, featuring Mountain Man. Last season, that number eclipsed the 3,800-mark, when Jep Robertson was the star guest. On Saturday night, a crowd of over 4,000 was expected for Si Robertson - the third member of the show to visit WesBanco Arena.
Fans with tickets for March 12th will still be able to attend that night's key divisional game between Wheeling and Kalamazoo, in addition to being able to exchange those tickets for tickets of equal or lesser value, subject to availability on April 1st for the rescheduled Duck Dynasty Night. That will allow fans the opportunity to attend two games for the price of one.
The Nailers will take the ice for three home games this weekend, starting with Flat Screen Friday, presented by The Highlands and Bordas & Bordas, in addition to Frosty Friday at 7:35 against Toledo. Saturday will be also be a 7:35 face-off with Kalamazoo serving as the opponent. Finally, on Sunday, the puck drops at 4:05 on a Family Funday with McDonald's $5 Kids Tickets, a post game skate with the team, Mascot Mania, and Pups 'N Pucks (bring your dog to the game).
