March 12, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans host the Wichita Thunder tonight at Allen Event Center at 7:05 pm in the 12th meeting of the season between the two clubs.
The Americans come into tonight's game winners of two straight, and winners of five of their last six contests. Allen is coming off a big 4-2 win over the best team in the league, the Missouri Mavericks, on Wednesday night in Allen. The Americans 34-20-3-2 and 73 points are tied for the second most points in the Western Conference with the Idaho Steelheads.
"We are a little banged up and shorthanded coming into tonight's game," said Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. "We are excited to see what our lineup looks like with the addition of Matt Register. He is the best defenseman in our league and will be a huge addition to our power play."
Spencer Asuchak is out of the lineup on suspension, while both Justin Courtnall and Chris Crane are banged up with injuries. Greger Hanson and Rick Pinkston are both still up in the American Hockey League with no timetable on either's return.
The Wichita Thunder come into tonight's game one of the hottest teams going winners of three straight with road wins at Missouri, Quad City and Evansville last weekend. Even though the Americans are 11-0-0 against Wichita this season, seven of the eleven games have been one-goal games.
Tickets are on sale NOW at Allen Event Center Box Office or call (972) 912-1000. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm. Tonight is Girl Scout Night & JDRF Game with specialty jersey & post game auction .
