Grizzlies Cool off Rampage

West Valley City, Utah - The Grizzlies returned home after seven straight road games and picked up where they left off on the friendly ice of the E-Center winning their fifth game in their last six on home ice. Utah used a pair of third period goals to beat the Rampage 5-3.

San Antonio scored the game's first goal when Eric Schneider scored his first ever AHL goal but Mark Wotton would answer before the end of the frame with his third goal of the season tying the score at one goal apiece after one period.

Gavin Morgan would get things going in the first minute of the second period scoring his sixth goal of the season. Alexei Komarov would add to the Grizzly lead with his third goal of the season off a missed shot by Eric Chouinard. Juraj Kolnik cut the lead to just one goal with his 10th of the season putting the score at 3-2 after two periods.

San Antonio would score an early power play goal in the third period when Denis Shvidki beat Jason Bacashihua tying the game at three goals apiece. The Grizzlies would get a great goal off a blast from Eric Chouinard giving Utah the lead for good. Eric Landry would add a goal in the game's final minute finshing the game at 5-3.

Utah would have the biggest shot output of the season rattling off 48 shots on San Antonio goaltender Chris Mason. San Antonio would muster 29 shots on Bacashihua.
