
Reading Ends Week with Shutout Win at Home

The Royals three game homestand ended on a good note Saturday night as the Royals ripped the Richmond Renegades 6-0. Jeff Sanger posted the shutout for Reading. The Royals began the week with a loss to Greensboro on Tuesday night followed by a defeat at the hands of Roanoke on Friday night.
This week the Royals play the only team they have not met in their division this season the Charlotte Checkers. Reading battles Charlotte Friday night on the road before returning home for games against Richmond on Saturday and Peoria on Sunday.

GAME NOTES: The Royals and Checkers meet for the first time this season. Reading will battle Charlotte six times. The Royals posted a 1-1-0 mark against the Checkers on the road last year and were 2-2-0 overall.
Saturday, December 14 vs. Richmond Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Royals met the Renegades just a week ago in the Sovereign Center and posted their first win of the season, 6-0. Reading is now 1-1-1 this season against Richmond and 4-3-2 all-time vs. the âGades. Reading and Richmond will meet four times after this game with three of those contests in Richmond Coliseum.
Sunday, November 15 vs. Peoria Sovereign Center 5:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals and Peoria Rivermen will meet twice this season with each team hosting one game. Reading was 2-1-0 against the Rivermen last season, posting both victories at home in the Sovereign Center. Former Royal Brendan Brooks makes his return to the Sovereign Center in a Peoria sweater.

GAME NOTES: The Greensboro Generals beat the Royals for the second straight time this year, 6-3. Sammy Ftorek led the way for Greensboro with four goals and an assist. Ftorek's natural hat trick came in the first period with two tallies coming on the power play. The Royals and Generals next meet in back-to-back games in Greensboro on January 2 and 3 of 2003.
Friday, December 6 vs. Roanoke Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: Roanoke's dominance over Reading continued this week. The Express stopped the Royals 4-1 on Friday night in the Sovereign Center. Roanoke posted three third period goals to claim victory. The Royals lone tally came from Simon Tremblay on the power play. Reading dropped three games in eleven days to the Express and are now 1-7-0 all-time versus Roanoke.
Saturday, November 7 vs. Richmond Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals blasted the Richmond Renegades 6-0 Saturday night in the Sovereign Center. Jeff Sanger stopped 32 shots to post his first shutout as a pro and Steve Rymsha (2g, 1a) and Brad Rooney (1g, 2a) each posted three-point efforts. Jeff Giuliano and Brian McCullough each tallied a shorthanded goal for the Royals.

Jeff Sanger picked up his first shutout stopping 32 shots Saturday night in the Sovereign Center against first place Richmond. It was Sanger's first win in nearly two months (October 16 vs Greensboro 5-3).
