Grizzlies Complete Regular Season With 5-2 Win In Victoria

Victoria, British Columbia - The Utah Grizzlies (34-29-4-5) scored three third period goals to defeat the Victoria Salmon Kings 5-2 Saturday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre to complete the regular season.

Utah captain Ryan Kinasewich started a third period three-goal in 4:17 barrage as he took a setup from Dylan Hunter 3:42 into the frame to give Utah a 3-2 lead on his league-leading 48th goal of the season. 18 seconds later, Tim Crowder knocked in his tenth goal of the year to make it 4-2 as Utah capped off their fastest back-to-back goals this year. Then at 7:59, Steve McJannet knocked in a rebound as Malcolm MacMillan and Lance Galbraith kept the puck alive to give Utah a 5-2 lead.

Six-foot-seven goaltender Mikko Koskininen stopped 13 third period shots and 29 of 31 overall in the game to improve to 6-0 with Utah.

Utah took a 1-0 first period lead and a 2-1 second period lead before the Salmon Kings tied both times. Kinasewich fed Dylan Hunter on a two-on-one rush 24 seconds into the game. Then AJ Perry scored his 30th of the year on another setup from Hunter and Kinasewich as well as Utah took a 2-1 lead 5:57 into the second period. Utah's number one line of Perry, Kinasewich and Hunter manufactured Utah's first three goals as the Grizzlies got scoring from all three lines in the game.

The Utah playoff schedule will be announced immediately following the completion of the Stockton, Alaska game which is currently ongoing in Anchorage.
