Grizzlies Acquire Peter White From Philadelphia

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH * Utah Grizzlies General Manager Laurence Gilman announced today that the Grizzlies have exchanged veteran players with the Philadelphia Phantoms. Joining Utah will be center Peter White and loaned to the Phantoms is left wing Jon Sim.

White, 35, is the Phantom*s all-time leader in points, goals, assists, games played, power play goals, game-winning goals and plus/minus. In 1998, the Montreal native led the Phantoms to the Calder Cup and is one of two players to win the AHL scoring championship three different times. White also won the Calder Cup with Cape Breton in 1993. In his career, White has played in 933 professional games.

This season, White has two goals and six assists in 10 games played with Philadelphia and is a +4. In his career, the 5-11, 200-pound center has played in 220 National Hockey League games scoring 23 goals with 37 assists.

Sim, had played in 10 games with Utah scoring two goals with two assists.

The Grizzlies are off until Friday night when they host the Milwaukee Admirals. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
