
Crunch Tops In Shootout Appearances

SHOOTOUT - TIMES FIVE: Syracuse participated in their AHL leading fifth shootout of the season Friday, November 12, falling to 2-3 in the shootout frame thanks to a sixth round goal by Rochester right wing Jason Pominville. Only three other AHL teams have participated in as many as three shootouts (Albany, Portland and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins). Crunch goaltender Pascal Leclaire has been in net for all five shootout's, stopping 17 of 27 attempts. Ten different Syracuse players have attempted a shootout this season, lead by Matthias Trattnig who has scored on four of his six attempts, including two game winners. Other Crunch players to attempt a shootout shot include Mark Hartigan (3-for-5), Joe Motzko (2-for-5), Brad Moran (0-for-4), Alexander Svitov (0-for-2), Tim Jackman (0-for-2), Jeff Panzer (0-for-1), Greg Mauldin (0-for-1), Aaron Johnson (0-for-1) and Raffaele Sannitz (0-for-1).
POWER PLAY STRUGGLES: Syracuse enters this week last in the AHL in power play success, going 6-for-81 (7.4%) with the man advantage. Left wing Mike Pandolfo's goal last night in Binghamton broke an 0-for-27 stretch dating back to November 3 @ Edmonton.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
HAMILTON (MONTREAL CANADIENS): The Crunch host Hamilton on Friday, November 19 for the second of six regular season meetings. Hamilton leads the series 1-0, after defeating the Crunch 3-2 in overtime at the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, October 30. Left wing Marc-Andre Thinel (2a) leads all players in head-to-head scoring with two points. Several Crunch players are tied with one point each. Karl Goehring appeared in net for Syracuse, recording 23 saves. Yann Danis recorded the win for the Bulldogs, stopping 44 shots. Lifetime Syracuse is 22-26-11 against Hamilton.
HOUSTON (MINNESOTA WILD/DALLAS STARS): Houston visits Syracuse on Saturday, November 20 for the second and final regular season meetings. Houston leads the series 1-0, after shutting out the Crunch 3-0 at the Toyota Center on November 7. Left wing Stephane Veilleux (1g, 1a) leads all players in head-to-head scoring with two points. Pascal Leclaire appeared in net for Syracuse, recording 40 saves. Mike Smith recorded the win for Houston, making 32 saves. Lifetime Syracuse is 1-2-0 against the Aeros.

Delo/Havoline Motor Oil Wednesday's: During the 2004-05 season, any person that brings a proof of purchase for a quart of Delo heavy duty motor oil to the Crunch's box office will receive a $15 ticket for $7.50, good for any Wednesday home game.
Tuesday, November 30
Tully's Billiards Tournament: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the Tully's Billiards Challenge to be held on Tuesday, November 30 at the Tully's on Erie Boulevard at 6:30 p.m.
Fans will have the opportunity to compete against Crunch players Aaron Johnson, Brad Moran, Jamie Pushor and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, members of the local media and other fans in an elimination pool tournament. A total of seven teams will be selected, four fan teams, two Crunch teams and one media team. Anyone interested in competing can email the Crunch at ksparks@syracusecrunch.com (include your name, address and phone number) or register at the Advance Auto Parts Guest Service center during home Crunch games.
The deadline to register is Friday, November 22. The randomly selected fans will be notified by phone or email. The winning team will receive dinner for eight at Tully's, eight tickets to a Crunch game and will be part of the ceremonial puck drop at a future home game.
INJURY UPDATE: Left wing Greg Mauldin is listed as day-to-day with a separated shoulder, that he suffered on Tuesday @ Edmonton. He has missed six games with the injury. Center Mark Hartigan is listed as day-to-day with a back injury, that he suffered on Sunday @ Houston. Through 15 games this season, Syracuse has lost 13 man-games due to injuries. Greg Mauldin - 6, Mark Hartigan â 3, Zenith Komarniski â 2 and Raffaele Sannitz â 2, represent the Crunch's injury list this season.
