The Edmonton Road Runners continue to top the AHL's overall standings with a record of 10-3-2-1 (.719). Edmonton's 23 points places the Road Runners a single point ahead of the Manchester Monarchs (11-1-0-0) and the Manitoba Moose (10-4-0-0). Edmonton's 10 wins are second in the AHL, behind only Manchester's league leading 11.

The Road Runners are currently riding a three-game winning streak and wrap up their six-game road trip on Wednesday against Hamilton. The team will return to Edmonton on Thursday, November 18th and prepare for an eight -game homestand starting with the St. John's Maple Leafs on Sunday, November 21st.

WEEKLY NOTES

¨ The Road Runners begin the week with a threegame winning streak as they are 3-0-0-0 from November 9th to 14th. The three-game streak is one shy of tying the team record four-game winning streak the Road Runners put together earlier this season when they were 4-0-0-0 from October 18th to 23rd.

¨ Edmonton returns home to Rexall Place to host the St. John's Maple Leafs in a Sunday matinee on November 21st at 1:00 pm. It is the first game of an eight game homestand that will see the Road Runners host St. John's, Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Manitoba from November 21st to December 12th.

¨ Tony Salmealinen continues to lead the Road Runners in scoring, scoring at a point-per-game pace with 7-9-16 in 16 games. He is tied for 8th in the AHL scoring race.

¨ Defenceman Rick Mrozik is 4th in the AHL in plus/ minus at +12 and is second among league blueliners. Mrozik was +5 in Edmonton's three games during the week.

¨ Mrozik and Mathieu Roy combined to score seven points from the blueline during the past week. Mrozik netted a season-high 1-2-3 in the Road Runners 4-1 win at Utah (Nov. 11) and added an empty net goal in the 6-4 win at Houston (Nov. 14). All three of Mrozik's points at Utah came in the second period. After scoring the game-winning goal in Edmonton's 2-0 win at Cleveland (Nov. 9), Roy registered his second multiple point game of the season with 1-1-2 at Utah (Nov. 11).

¨ Rocky Thompson earned his first point of the season with an assist on Dan Baum's game-winning goal at Houston on November 14th. For Baum, the goal was his first of the season and was one of two points the Road Runners forward scored in the 6-4 victory as he also tallied an assist on Dan Smith's first period goal.

¨ Raffi Torres scored 3-1-4 and was +4 in the three games played last week. He has scored 4-1-5 in five games since joining the Road Runners on November 5th.

¨ Joe Cullen registered 1-2-3 during the week with a two assist outing at Utah and a goal at Houston. Both Cullen and his brother Matt, who plays for the Houston Aeros, scored a goal in the 6-4 Road Runners win.

¨ Brad Winchester suffered a knee injury in the 4-1 win at Utah (Nov. 11) and has returned home to Edmonton to have the injury assessed by the Road Runners medical staff. Jesse Niinimaki, who was signed to an AHL contract on November 4th, is joining the team in Hamilton for their final game of the sixgame road trip.

TYLER MOSS

Goaltender Tyler Moss is the Edmonton Road Runners nominee for the AHL Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, November 14, 2004.

Appearing in two of Edmonton's three games during the week of November 8th-14th, Moss went 2- 0-0 with a 0.50 goals against average and .982 save percentage, while recording his second shutout of the season.

He began the week by making 33 saves with a 2-0 victory against the Cleveland Barons in a game played at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California (The home of the Baron's NHL parent, the San Jose Sharks) on November 9th. He then made 22 saves in a 4-1 win at Utah on November 11th, extending his shutout streak to 81:57 before allowing a powerplay goal at 1:58 of the second period. The shutout was Moss's 13th career AHL shutout and his fifth as a Road Runner.

Moss has started six of Edmonton's last seven games and is 4-1-1 from October 30th to November 11th. He is among AHL goaltending leaders in games played (5th with 10), wins (1st with 7), shutouts (2nd with 2) and is tied for 10th in goals against average at 2.06.
