Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has acquired veteran forward Lance Galbraith from the Alaska Aces in exchange for Evan Kotsopoulos and the rights to forward Mike Walsh.

"Lance is a fierce competitor and a proven winner with natural leadership abilities," said Colley. "He has played for two of our division rivals the last five seasons and has been an integral part of their success. When he's playing against you, you won't like him one bit, but on your team, he will have just the opposite effect."

In 423 career ECHL games, the Ontario native has tallied 131 goals and 185 points for 316 points and 1,933 penalty minutes.

Galbraith had one goal and one assist against Utah this year in three games for the Aces. The veteran has been apart of two ECHL Kelly Cup Championships with Idaho in 2004 and 2007 and finished as a runner-up for the title last year as Alaska dropped game seven of the finals to South Carolina in Anchorage. In last year's five-game playoff series against Utah, Galbraith had three goals and one assist. The forward played one AHL game with the Grizzlies during the 2003-2004 season.

In 68 career ECHL playoff games, Galbraith has totaled 58 points (30 goals, 28 assists) and 185 penalty minutes.

Utah completes their home stand Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. and Thursday at 6:05 p.m. hosting Victoria at the E-Center.
